We are all interested in the spooky stories about those spine chilling haunted places and honestly pretty scared about them. Outside we act pretty cool about them but inside we know that we are never putting our foot anywhere near it. So here are some of the haunted places from around the world that will most definitely give you the heebie-jeebies.

Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan, India

One of the spookiest place on the planet, and not something to be trifled with. Legend has it that a sorceress cursed the people of the fort that they would all die and that their souls would forever haunt the fort. Now that’s a scary back-story!!! All kinds of sightings and unnatural noises have been heard in the fort during the night. No one dares to stay the night in the fort and its neighborhood is devoid of any settlement for obvious reasons.

Highgate cemetery, London, England

A shot straight out of a horror movie. It’s a nature haven by day and a ghost town by night. As dusk prevails, headless statues, creaky pathways, unmanaged grass pavements and the typical hooting of owl all make it one complete heck of a haunted place. And the eerie silence is of no help at all.

Screaming Tunnel, Niagara Falls, Ontario

This is indeed a place for those with nerves of steel and strong guts. As per legend, a burning girl had run wildly, screaming into the tunnel. Unfortunately she died due to severe burns. No one actually knows how it all had happened and continues to intrigue people. But the twist in the plot is that, if you ever light a flame in the tunnel, the spirit rushes screaming towards the person, haunting the person till death.

Mont Cristo, New South Wales, Australia

Australia’s most haunted mansion is definitely not one of the places for the faint hearted. According to the stories, Mrs. Crawley the owner of the house never came out of the house after husband’s death except for two times. And now after her death, her spirit haunts the place. Body-less ghost, phantom face in the window, floating apparition, strange and ghostly voices, automatic turning on and off lights are some haunting experiences of the people.

Berry Pomeroy Castle, Totness, England

There are a number of legends associated with this 14th-century castle, and it has a reputation of being haunted. It has 2 famous female ghosts; the White Lady and the Blue Lady. According to legend the White Lady is the spirit of Margaret Pomeroy, who starved while imprisoned in the dungeons by her jealous sister. Apparently she haunts the dark dungeons, and rises from St Margaret’s Tower to the castle walls. The Blue Lady is not confined to specific areas and is supposed to lure people into parts of the ruin. Apparently it’s a very bad idea to follow her!!!

Aokigahara, Japan

If you’ve ever visited this haunted place, you’re way braver than I am. At the base of Mt. Fugi, you’ll find Aokighara, Japan’s globally infamous Suicide Forest. Hundreds of people have journeyed into the forest to kill themselves amidst its dense trees and vines, so many people that the local police do annual sweeps to clear away the bodies. This place is believed to be haunted by the wandering souls of the dead. It’s an all-round terrifying place.
